The Acting Minister of National Defense Meets with High-ranking Delegation of the Russian Federation

Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob «Mujahid» Acting Minister of National Defense, met with high-ranking Russian delegation at his office today.

This delegation was led by the Russian Security Council Secretary, Mr. Sergei Shoigu, and included Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Averchuk, the President’s special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov, Russian extraordinary and decisive ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov, and others.

The Acting Minister of National Defense, while welcoming the Russian delegation, appreciated Russia’s effort to clear the Islamic Emirate from the blacklist and reinforce the bilateral relations.

The Russian side also admired the Islamic Emirate’s efforts, especially the Ministry of National Defense, for ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan.

Further, both sides discussed about the expansion of economic cooperation, trade, security and several other matters of common interest.
