Launch of the Comprehensive Policy for Training, Education and Higher Education of the Afghan National Army
The Comprehensive Policy for Training, Education and Higher Education of the Afghan National Army was launched in the Marshal Fahim National Defense University, on Sunday, July 26, 2020.
Shah Mahmood Miakhil, the first deputy minister of defense, Munira Yusufzada, deputy minister of defense for training and personnel affairs, Hosna Jalil, deputy minister of interior affairs for policy and strategy, and Lieutenant General Mohammad Nazim Payenda, United Training and Doctrine Program Commander of the Afghan National Army, Directors and General from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior, instructors and cadets from Marshal Fahim National Defense University as well as other military academies of Kabul had attended this ceremony. The ceremony was launched with Munira Yusufzada’s speech.
The deputy minister affirmed that implementation of the policy will contribute to enhancing literacy levels among the Afghan National Army personnel. She also stated that Master programs of the Marshal Fahim Military Academy have been designed and the academy will begin delivering Master level programs in the near future. Subsequently, Mr. Shah Mahmood Miakhil appreciated Ms. Yusufzada’s efforts for developing and finalizing the policy.
The first deputy minister also stressed on the need for establishing durable and sustainable peace in the country.
Comprehensive Policy of Training, Education and Higher Education of the Afghan National Army consists of an introduction, seventeen chapters, and five sections and includes all short-term, mid-term, and long-term training and education programs for the Afghan National Army personnel at the national and international levels.
The policy will be implemented by the start of the new semesters across the universities and academies of the Afghan National Army.
