Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched one clearing operation and carried out 76 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 78 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 6 airstrikes on enemies’ positions. As a result, 31 insurgents including a Taliban commander killed and 19 others wounded.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Kunar, Khost, Oruzgan, Badghis, Balkh and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, 14 insurgents were killed, 13 were wounded, one vehicle, one motorbike and rounds of weapon and ammo destroyed in Balamurghab district of Badghis. 12 insurgents were killed and 17 others were wounded in Farah capital. 6 insurgents were killed and 4 others were wounded in Chamtal district of Balkh.

Similarly, 4 insurgents were killed in Chashma Sher area of Baghlan. 3 insurgents including a Taliban commander known as Obaid killed and 2 others wounded in Greshk district of Helmand. 3 insurgents were killed in Khas Oruzgan district of Oruzgan and one other was killed in Sawkai district of Kunar.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
