18 insurgents were killed in different parts of the country      

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 2 clearing operations and carried out23 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 57 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 3 airstrikes on enemies’ positions. As a result, 18 insurgents were killed and 3 Pakistani nationals were arrested.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Farah, Oruzgan, Zabul, Baghlan and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, Haqani network-affiliated commander and their broadcasting in-charge killed with their two bodyguards, 3 female Pakistani nationals were arrested with broadcasting devices in Khwajagan village, Jaghato district of Maidan Wardak. 3 Ak47 riffles, 20 Magazines, 20 grenades and some other explosives and ammunition destroyed in the field. 5 laptop computers , one IPod, 4 radios , 2 hard drives , 2 memory cards , one flash drive, 2 cameras, one video camera  , one scanner , one projector and one amplifier seized as well.

Similarly, 4 insurgents were killed in Nad Ali district of Helmand. 7 insurgents were killed, 3 Ak47 riffles, one PK machine gun, one vehicle and some explosives were seized in Enjel and Zarghon districts of Herat and Bakwah and Gulistan districts of Farah. Several IEDs were also discovered and defused.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
