Kabul, Afghanistan: In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 6
clearing operations and carried out 79 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to
remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 123 flights supporting
Afghan National Army and carried out 11 airstrikes on enemies’ positions. As a result, 70 insurgents were
killed, 23 were wounded and 7 others were arrested.
These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces
in Kunar, Logar, Ghazni, Oruzgan, Herat, Sarepul, Baghlan, Faryab, Kundoz and Helmand provinces.
In these operations, 40 insurgents were killed, 7 were wounded, a training center, 2 depots, 3 hideouts, 2
vehicles and some rounds of weapon and ammunition destroyed in Khas Oruzgan and Trenkut districts of
Oruzgan province. Mawlawi Norulhaq Taliban shadow district governor and Mullah Noor Ahmad known
as Khalid Taliban military chief killed in Sancharak district of Sarepul province. 7 were wounded and
mentioned district was cleared of insurgents. 16 insurgents were killed, one was wounded, 6 were
arrested, one motorbike and one motorcycle destroyed in Dehyak and Qarabagh districts of Ghazni. 9
insurgents were killed and 6 others were wounded in Qalazal district of Kundoz.
Similarly, 3 insurgents were killed, one was wounded, 12 fighting positions, 80 meter long trench and
some fighting positions were destroyed in Sangen district of Helmand. One insurgent was killed and one
other was wounded in Qaisar district of Faryab. An insurgent was arrested with 4 rounds of weapon in
Manogai district of Kunar.
Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace
and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
