With profound regret and sorrow, we learned that last night’s earthquake in Kunar and Nangarhar (Jalalabad) caused the loss of several of our beloved citizens, injured others, and inflicted significant material damages on the local population.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Hafiz Mohammad Fasihuddin “Fetrat”, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and extended his sympathies to all grieving families and the people of Afghanistan for this tragic loss.

We pray to Almighty Allah to grant Jannat al-Firdous (Paradise) to the martyrs of this incident, speedy recovery to the injured, and patience along with abundant reward for the surviving families.

Furthermore, the Chief of General Staff has issued necessary directives to all relevant units and institutions to swiftly assist the affected, in rescue operations, aid, and addressing the urgent needs of the influenced people, no effort shall be spared.

May Almighty Allah safeguard our country and people from all natural disasters and calamities.
