Following the recent tragic earthquake in the eastern provinces of the country (Kunar, Nangarhar, and Laghman), which resulted in hundreds of martyrs and injuries, the leadership of Ministry of National Defense organized a Quran Recitation to pray for the peace of the departed souls.

The ceremony was attended by the country’s chief of general staff armed forces, Qari Mohammad Fasihuddin “Fitrat”, directors of various departments of the Ministry of National Defense, and several personnel at the ministry’s headquarter.

In his remarks, the Chief of General Staff emphasized that the assistance of the National Islamic Army to the people is not just a display, but rather is a sacred and moral duty to stand with nation in complicated times and extend a helping hand. The Ministry of National Defense’s leadership also expressed their condolences, praying Bihisht-e-Barin (heaven) for the martyrs, speedy recovery for the injured, and patience along with strength for the surviving families.

The Ministry of National Defense has always stood alongside the honorable and noble people of the country, and reaffirms its commitment to extend a helping hand in every circumstance, particularly in hard-times, mobilizing all its resources and capacity to provide any possible assistance and support.
