118 Insurgents Were Killed in Different Parts of the Country        

Kabul, Afghanistan: in the past 24 hours, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 9 joint clearance operations and conducted 79 Special Forces operations in different parts of the country. In order to remove security threats and ensure security to the people of Afghanistan, Afghan Air Forces conducted 121 flights and carried out 20 airstrikes on enemies’ positions in support of these operations. As a result, 118 Insurgents were killed, 42 were wounded and 3 were detained.

These operations were conducted with support of Resolute Support and Afghan Air Forces in Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Nangarhar, Faryab, Farah, Ghor, Nimruz and Kapisa provinces.

In these operations, 51 insurgents including a Taliban local commander by the name of Mahmud known as Bado-Jan were killed, 9 were wounded and amount weapons and ammunition were seized in Miyanishin, Shah Walikut, Khakrez and Maiwand districts of Kandahar province. 17 insurgents were killed, 3 were arrested, 8 vehicles, 22 motorbikes and amount of weapons and ammunition were destroyed in Khashrod and Delaram districts of Nimruz province. 12 insurgents were killed, 7 were wounded and a vehicle was destroyed in Khas-Uruzgan district and Trenkut capital of Uruzgan province. 10 insurgents were killed and 12 terrorists including Hameedi a Taliban shadow security commander for Daychopan district were wounded in Daychopan district of Zabul province. 8 insurgents were killed, 5 were wounded, 1 vehicle and a motorbike were seized and 2 motorbikes were destroyed in Qarabagh and Andar districts Ghazni province.    

Similarly, 6 insurgents were killed in Shirin Tagab district of Faryab province. 6 insurgents were killed and 5 were wounded in Anar Dara district of Farah province. 4 insurgents were killed in Dawlat Yar district of Ghor province. 2 insurgents were killed, 20 fighting positions, 60m machicolations, 120 ditches, 22 bags of Hashish, 29 kg opium and a vehicle were seized in Garmsir, Sangin, Nahar Saraj and Nad Ali districts of Helmand province. An ISIS terrorist was killed and a vehicle packed with explosive was destroyed in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province. An insurgent was killed in Gomel district of Paktika province.
