88 Insurgents Were Killed in Different Parts of the Country

Kabul, Afghanistan: in the past 24 hours, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 8 joint clearance operations and conducted 79 Special Forces operations in different parts of the country. In order to remove security threats and ensure security to the people of Afghanistan, Afghan Air Forces conducted 177 flights and carried out 14 airstrikes on enemies’ positions in support of these operations. As a result, 88 Insurgents were killed, 66 were wounded and 2 were detained.

These operations were conducted with support of Resolute Support and Afghan Air Forces in Wardak, Logar, Ghazni, Helmand, Takhar, Kunduz, Ghor, Balkh, Samangan, Kapisa, Herat, Kandahar and Paktikah provinces.

In these operations, 27 insurgents including 17 Pakistani terrorists were killed, 60 were wounded, 15 weapons, 5 rocket launcher, a camera frame and 4 radios were seized in Chak district of province. 12 insurgents were killed and 1 hideout, 2 vehicles, 160 machicolations & 1 motorbike were destroyed and 8 rounds of IEDs were discovered and defused in Sangin, Nahar Saraj and Kajaki districts of Helmand province. 7 insurgents were killed, 4 were wounded and some weapon and ammunition were seized in Charkh district of Logar province.

Similarly, 7 insurgents were killed in vicinities of Firuz Koh city, Ghor province. 3 insurgents were killed in Gurtipa area, Kunduz province. 2 insurgents were killed and 2 wounded in Khwaja Bahauddin district of Takhar province. 2 suspects were arrested, 13 mobile, 2 digital telephones, 6 passports, 16 sim cards and some advertising banners of enemy were seized in Andar district of Ghazni province.

 Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
