23 insurgents were killed in different parts of the country      

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 5 clearing operations and carried out 78 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 116 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 3 airstrikes on enemies’ positions. As a result, 23 insurgents were killed and 4 others were wounded.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Oruzgan and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, 13 insurgents were killed, 3 were wounded and an IED making facility destroyed in Maiwand, Nesh and Khakriz districts of Kandahar. 7 insurgents were killed and a hideout was destroyed in Trenkut city, Oruzgan capital. 3 insurgents were killed in Qarabagh district of Ghazni. Sultan Khel, Khawajagan, Gardi Kas, Warsak, Dag Kulai, Ghara Ghowara and Mullah Khel villages were cleared of insurgents, one insurgent was killed and some rounds of weapon and ammo destroyed in Behsod district of Nangarhar.   

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
