61 insurgents were killed in different parts of the country      

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 3 clearing operations and carried out 68 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 99 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 15 airstrikes on enemies’ positions. As a result, 61 insurgents were killed, 8 were wounded and 22 suspects were arrested.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Zabul, Baghlan, Samangan, Kundoz and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, 19 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded, a vehicle and some rounds of weapon and ammunition seized in Nad Ali, Greshk and Nahre-Saraj districts of Helmand. 16 insurgents were killed in Achin and Sherzad districts of Nangarhar. 15 insurgents were killed, 3 were wounded, a hideout and 2 fighting positions were destroyed in Dashte-Archi district of Kundoz. 4 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded and 20 others were arrested in Samangan capital.

Similarly, 4 insurgents were killed in Andar district of Ghazni. 2 insurgents were killed and one other was wounded in Mizan district of Zabul. One insurgent was killed and a motorbike was destroyed in Ghorak district of Kandahar. 2 insurgents were arrested with a redio, 19 SIM cards and one motorbike in Trenkut, Oruzgan capital.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
