90 insurgents killed in different parts of the country

Kabul, Afghanistan:  Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 20 clearing operations and 105 Special Forces operations in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 80 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried 14 airstrike on enemies’ positions. As a result, 90 insurgents were killed, 25 were wounded and 6 suspects were arrested.

The operation was conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces in Nangarhar,Herat,Ghazni,Badakhshan,Faryab,Khost,Sarepul,Oruzgan,Kunar,Helmand,Baghlan,Kandahar,Nimroz,Logar and Paktia provinces.

As a result of these operations, 23 insurgents were killed, 14 were wounded, 2 vehicles and a depot of ammunition destroyed in Andar and Moqor districts of Ghazni. 4 insurgents were killed, 6 were wounded and a vehicle was destroyed in Zurmat district of Paktia. 3 insurgents were killed and 1 other was wounded in Wazahkhwah district of Paktika. 3 insurgents were killed and 4 others were wounded in Qala-Zal district of Kundoz. An ISIS affiliate was killed and 6 suspects were arrested in Watapor district of Kunar.

Afghan Air Forces conducted heavy airstrikes on enemies’ positions killing 19 ISIS fighters in Achin district of Nangarhar. Similarly, 19 insurgents were killed and some rounds of weapons and ammunition destroyed in Qaisar and Dawlat Abad districts of Faryab. 13 insurgents were killed in Balablok district of Farah. 5 insurgents were killed and 5 hideouts were destroyed in Kajaki district of Helmand.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
