66 insurgents killed in different parts of the country

Kabul, Afghanistan:  Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 18 clearing operations and 102 Special Forces operations in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 120 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried 10 airstrike on enemies’ positions. As a result, 66 insurgents were killed, 21 were wounded and 2 others were arrested.

The operation was conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces in Helmand,Nimroz,Nangarhar,Kunar,Faryab,Ghazni,Baghlan,Logar,Herat,Badakhshan,Oruzgan,Sarepul and Kandahar.

12 insurgents were killed, 7 were wounded and 3 motorbikes were destroyed in Balamorghab district of Badghis and Farah capital. 3 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded and some rounds of weapons and ammunition destroyed in Narang district of Kunar. 3 insurgents were killed and 4 were wounded in Gero district of Ghazni. 1 insurgent was killed in Muhammad Agha district of Logar.

Afghan Air Forces conducted heavy airstrikes on enemies’ positions that as a result, 26 insurgents were killed, 3 were wounded and 2 vehicles were destroyed in Zurmat district of Paktia. 10 insurgents were killed, 7 were wounded, 5 hideouts, 5 IEDS and some other rounds of weapons and ammunition destroyed in Khas Oruzgan district of Oruzgan. 10 insurgents were killed in Nad Ali district of Helmand and an ISIS fighter was killed in Khogyani district of Nangarhar.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
