Enemies suffer heavy causalities in different parts of the country

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 13 clearing operations and carried out 96 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 122 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 6 airstrike on enemies’ positions. As a result, tens of insurgents were killed and 5 others were wounded.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Helmand, Faryab, Badakhshan, Farah, Badghis, Daikundi, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Paktika, Nangarhar, Kunar and Kapisa provinces.

In these operations, 69 insurgents including Mullah Sarwar Taliban shadow district governor for Almar district, Mullah Zikrullah Taliban deputy shadow district governor for Qarghan district and Mawlai Habiburahman Taliban red unit commander killed, 5 were wounded and a hideout destroyed in Almar and Qarghan districts of Faryab. Mullah Naqibullah known as Toor Khalid a key commander of Taliban in Mianshin district killed with 20 insurgents, 3 hideouts were destroyed, 12 civilians were freed from Taliban prison in Shahwalikut district of Kandahar. 20 insurgents were killed; a hideout and a cache of ammo and weapons destroyed in Musa Qala, Nahre-Saraj, Marja and Kajaki districts of Helmand.

Similarly, 2 insurgents were killed, 3 depots of ammo and weapons, a hideout and 400 kg of explosives destroyed in Shahwalikut district of Kandahar. 11 IEDs were also discovered and defused. 2 insurgents were killed in Dara-Pech district of Kunar. An ISIS fighter known as Zartana killed in Khogyani district of Nangarhar.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
