57 insurgents killed in different parts of the country

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, on the receipt of intelligence tips, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 9 clearing operations and carried out 100 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 99 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 20 airstrike on enemies’ positions. As a result, 57 insurgents were killed and 13 others were wounded.

The operation was conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces with support of Air Forces in Kapisa, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Faryab, Ghor, Nimroz and Helmand provinces.

As a result of these operations, 19 insurgents were killed in Jaghori and Andar districts of Ghazni. 12 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded and an explosive packed vehicle destroyed in Kajaki, Marja, Nahre-Saraj and Nad Ali districts of Helmand. 6 insurgents were killed in Achin and Pacheragam districts of Nangarhar. 5 insurgents were killed, a vehicle and a motorcycle destroyed in Sayed Karam district of Paktia and Gomal district of Paktika. 4 insurgents were killed, 4 were wounded and a motorcycle was seized in Khashrod district of Nimroz and Sangen district of Helmand.

Similarly, 3 insurgents were killed, 4 others including Taliban deputy shadow district governor wounded and some rounds of weapon and ammunition destroyed in Charsada district of Ghor. 2 insurgents were killed and 3 others were wounded in Tagab district of Kapisa.  2 insurgents were killed and 2 vehicles were destroyed in Sheren Tagab district of Faryab. 2 insurgents were killed in Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar and 2 others were killed in Poshtrod district of Farah.
