40 insurgents were killed

Kabul-Afghanistan: 40 insurgents including a Taliban local commander killed, 35 wounded and nine suspects detained in Afghan National Defense and Security Forces’ joint operations in different parts of Afghanistan.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force in Nangarhar , Kapisa , Ghazni , Logar , Khost , Urozgan , Zabul , Farah , Badghis , Faryab , Kundoz and Helmand provinces.

Enemies suffered heavy casualties in these operations. Ten insurgents were killed, 11 were wounded, nine suspects were arrested and enemies’ three bases were destroyed in Balablok district of Farah. Ten insurgents were killed and 17 other were wounded in Khas Urozgan district and Trenkut city in Urozgan capital. Eight insurgents including a French national killed and three other were wounded in Darzab district of Jawzjan. Four insurgents were killed and three other were wounded in Kohistanat district of Faryab.

Similarly, three insurgents including Mullah Nayem , a Taliban local commander killed in Shahjoi district of Zabul. Three insurgents were killed and three other were wounded in Nad Ali district of Helmand. Two insurgents were killed and two other were wounded in Moqur district of Ghazni.  

16 clearing operations, 64 Special Forces’ operations were carried out in 11 provinces in the past 24 hours. Afghan Air Force, also, conducted 111 freights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 11 airstrikes on enemies’ sanctuaries. 

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifices to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
