16 insurgents were killed in different parts of the country      

Kabul, Afghanistan:  In the past 24 hours, , Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched 12 clearing operations and carried out 96 Special Forces tasks in different parts of the country in order to remove security threats and ensure security. Afghan Air Forces also conducted 35 flights supporting Afghan National Army and carried out 7 airstrike on enemies’ positions. As a result, 16 insurgents were killed and 3 others were wounded.

These operations were conducted by the Afghan National Army Forces and with the support of Air forces in Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Daikundi, Farah, Faryab and Helmand provinces.

In these operations, 9 insurgents were killed, 5 fighting positions and 3 motorcycles were destroyed in Shah Wali Kut and Nesh districts of Kandahar. 38 IEDs were also discovered and defused. 4 insurgents were killed, 2 were wounded and 64 IEDs were defused in Trenkut, Oruzgan capital. Mullah Hayatullah, Taliban deputy shadow district governor killed with his man and a motorcycle was destroyed in Pashtonkut district of Faryab. One insurgent was killed and one other was wounded in Marja district of Helmand.

Afghan National Army as the nation’s defense forces, are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
